Azami

Genre :It’s a girly story, But it is also an adventure book but a girl adventure book :)

Blurb: The book talks about three girls: Molly, Maria and Pippa. Their passion is dancing . They are best friends, you will feel the friendship, they share everything together. So many things are going to happen to them this year… They'll meet a lovely dog and people...  But do you  think  everything is going to be perfect?

Personal opinion: I chose this book because the book cover looked fun and the plot inspired me. Personally, I did not enjoy this book I think it the most annoying girly book I have ever readBut after, everyone has their personal opinion, you  can think that this book is better than I think. I didn’t enjoy it because it was very boring, normally I never read girly books and now I know why ;) the book talks about girls, their life and their problems but I think I am a bit too old to read this kind of books … I would recommend it for girls around 8-12 years old, for girls who like girls’ stories, dancing and I wouldn’t recommend it for girls who like adventure stories... And boys : Never read this book !!

George’s marvellous medicine (4ème/Gr.1)

Title:  George’s marvellous medicine

Author: Roald Dahl

Genre : Children’s literature, funny.

Blurb
This book is about a little boy who hates his grandmother because she’s always angry, selfish and she was hateful too. So he was frightened by what she was saying to him and he decided to prepare a magic recipe because he wanted her to be good, so she has to take a large spoonful of medicine four times a day… What is going to happen to the grandmother? What is going to be the reaction of his parents?

Personal opinion:
I’ve chosen this book because I first read it when I was younger and it was really easy to read, so I decided to read it again. And I think that this one was better than “The magic finger” another book from the same author. But maybe this book is more interesting than the other and more simple to read. I’ve never read a book shorter than this one. The author is the most popular I’ve ever seen.
I enjoyed the real end of the book when the grandmother disappears, this made me laugh and I like it when the author adds funny things..I recommend this book to people who like reading just a bit because it’s a really short book.

Level
This book is really easy to read, there are images to understand more what the story is about.

Wonder (4ème/Gr.1)

Title :  Wonder

Author: R.J. Palacio

Genre : Novel

Blurb :

This story is about a young boy, named August. He has a deformed face which scared “normal” people. He has got a sister, Olivia, and a dog, Daisy. He doesn’t go to school so he studies with his mother. But when he becomes teenager he decides with his parents to go to school even if he is afraid of other pupils’ reactions… Will he convince other students that he is inside “a normal boy”? Of course it won’t be easy; there are a lot of different behaviours depending on classmates’ personalities. Which one would be yours? You can’t be neutral.

Personal opinion:
I chose this book because my mother recommended it to me.
This book is very moving, sentimental and suspenseful. It is so well described that I can easily imagine his emotions. It’s a beautiful book on differences and tolerance.
I would recommend this book to teenagers and adults, but not to too young children because they could be shocked by some people’s reactions. For me, it’s a total must-read!I’ve never read a book that well described.
I think there are people nicer than others. But in general when people start to really know August, they become friendlier. They take care of him and of course defend him when someone hurts him. For me, the most adorable person is Summer and the meanest person is Jack.
It’s the best book I’ve ever read.

Very easy to read with a rich and precise vocabulary. It’s also a great opportunity to learn new words. I’ve improved a lot my vocabulary.
