The story begins when Jamie Carpenter’s father is shot dead in front of his eyes. Two years later, his mum disappears mysteriously.  He finds then the existence of a top-secret government department.

This service is in charge to control supernatural creatures like zombies, werewolves or vampire. After becoming a special agent, Jamie will try to save his mother.

Department 19 is a very nice book. There is a lot of suspense in it. It is a gory book and I wouldn’t recommend young people to read it because there are a lot of details.

The story is very poignant and when you start, you can’t stop!

My favorite character is Jamie because he is very kind and desperate.
