The Great Gatsby (3ème/Groupe2)

Title: The Great Gatsby

Author: F. Scott Fitzgerald

Genre : Novel

Blurb: The book is about Nick Carraway, a young man from Minnesota, he moves to New York in the summer of 1922 to learn about the bond business…
One evening while he went out for dinner with his cousin and her husband Tom, he meets Jordan Baker a young woman with who Nick begins a relationship.
As the summer progresses, Nick is invited to one of Gatsby’s legendary parties.
Where he then meets Gatsby himself.
The next day when Nick and Jordan were passing by Gatsby’s house, they discovered down the valley, Gatsby’s car struck and killed Myrtle, Tom’s lover.
What is the mystery behind Mr Gatsby?

Personal opinion: The story is complex and quite confusing in some parts.
I chose this book because it is shorter and easier than other life-like stories that you can find.

I really enjoyed the progression of the story and the relation between the characters. At the beginning the story is very monotonous because it has a long introduction of the characters…But after a while it gets very suspenseful.
Overall, it’s a nice book, but you have to like that type of books.

Level: The vocabulary of the book is average and hasn’t got a lot of difficult words
And the book is 218 pages long.
