It is very quickly a big success.

Personal Opinion:

Why I choose the Book:

I choose this book because I went in India 2 years ago and I know how difficult the life in

India is.

What I enjoyed about the Book?

I really enjoyed the bravery of the two kids (Hari and Lila)  because its very difficult for kids of 12 and 13 years old to work in another city and take care of their family. They are determined  to adaptto a changing, growing world  which is still developing.

I would recommend this book to readers who

I would recommend this book to readers who like novels developing  from a sad  at the
beginning to an happy end. In addition novels comparing the lives of  rich and poor
countries and difficult living conditions are always interesting to explain to readers
that there might be more difficult living conditions than theirs.

Level: It is not very difficult to understand and quite fast to read.

Pride and Prejudice (4ème/Groupe2)

Author : Jane Austen
Genre:  19th century classic

Blurb :  Pride and Prejudice is the story of the five young girls who need to get married. Those girls are the daughters of Mrs and Mr. Bennet. As a young man named Mr.Bingley is coming in Netherfield, the family is excepting that one of their daughters will married Mr.Bingley. However, Mr.Bingley is not coming all alone, he is coming with his friend Mr. Darcy and his sister. Will Mr. Darcy like Miss. Elizabeth?

Why I chose this book:
I chose this book because I love the author Jane Austen. In addition,  Pride and Prejudice is a book that needs to be read in a life-time. As I first saw the film I thought the book could be as good as the film. I also like the countryside and I found the scenery gorgeous. I am also extremely sensitive about the way of living in the English Countryside at that period of time.

What I liked about the book :
My personal opinion is based on the writing which was extremely good but complicated and the story which is like an emblem of the “gentry” and was a description of the behaviour of citizens of the English countryside who are always in need of money and glamour.

In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen shows with humour and affection the mentality of the “gentry”, in pinning the stupidity and the strength of the prejudices of this little noblesse of the English countryside, who goes from balls to receptions, and who envies and admires the wealth and titles of the nobility.

I would recommend the book to   the readers who are interested in Jane Austen’s books and who like glamour and irony. I would probably recommend it to girls around 13 years old but after this age, everybody can read it.

Level : I would say that the English language was difficult but I could follow because I had seen the film before.

Theodore Boone : The Accused (4ème/Groupe2)

Author: John Grisham

Genre: Realistic thriller

Blurb: He certainly never expected to be the victim of crime himself. But then his bike is vandalised, he's attacked while doing his homework and, worst framed for a robbery. When stolen computer equipment turns up in Theo's locker, the police start leaning on him hard. And he's the only suspect. What if he is found guilty? What about his dreams of becoming a lawyer?

My opinion: "The intelligent person is accused, he is being bullied by one or more people but he doesn't know who or why. He and his uncle are trying hard to resolve the problem not to  get in any more trouble because the police do not believe them". For me this part is very interesting : this is what the story is about. Only Theo and his uncle can solve the mystery. But there are as well other mysteries and problems to look at...

I chose this book because I love thrillers, mysteries and adventures books.

Level of reading: It is a book that can be read from level A2 and plus.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book to people who love adventure, thrillers and mystery books.

Rating: 5/5

Genre: humour, adventure

Blurb: After the death of his mother, a  young boy,  Damian,  is totally obsessed with saints. He wants to become a saint. One  night, as he is with his brother, something heavy hits the roof. He runs outside:  A sack with its contents spilling out. It is a lot of money… Millions….

His discovery comes at a time when England is about to change its currency and join the Euro so they have to find a way to spend the money as quickly as possible…

Personal opinion :

I choose this book because the bookseller recommended it to me. I asked for advice to a book with an intermediate level and with humour, adventure or suspense. It is a short and amusing tale about two brothers trying to make sense of a  fortune. It makes you think about what you would do with a million pounds to be spent in 17 days…

I enjoyed this book because it is a child’s  point of view about the power of the money. It is very funny and extraordinary story.

I would recommend this book to a person who likes a funny read and who has a good sense of humour. Some passages are boring when the boy doesn’t stop talking about saints.
