The Amazing story of Adolphus Tips

By Michael Morpurgo

In 1943, Lily Tregenza lives on a farm in the seaside village of Slaton with her cat Tips, her mother, her grandfather and Barry. When the population has to leave the village Lily and her family settle at uncle George’s house.
Soon the village is surrounded by barbed wire. It serves the Allied forces to prepare the invasion in France. But Tips returns to the forbidden area.
Two soldiers, Harry and Adolphus, help her to find Tips.
At the end of the war, Lily finds her house and Tips. But Harry dies and Adolphus never comes back.
Many years later, while she was walking on the beach, she saw Adie. They got married a few months later.

I like this book because it’s easy to read and I like this author. The suspense remains until the end. The end is very surprising. The only thing I dislike is that some passages are a bit boring.
